Our organization joined the Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Commission, Inc. together with other Social Action Centers in the Contingency Planning for the Big One held on June 13, 2024 at the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila. Bro. Renniel Rosales, the Executive Director of Kasaka ni San Isidro Labrador, Inc. joined the delegates of the Archdiocese of Lipa in this noble cause. It is noteworthy that the good Archbishop Gilbert A. Garcera, DD, Archbishop of Lipa initiated this planning as there is a necessity for the Church to also prepare for the Big One which may bring a 7.2 Magnitude Earthquake in Metro Manila cause by the West Valley Fault.
The whole day planning was spearheaded by LASAC, Inc. with LTCDR Ferdinand Juan, PN (RES) (Consultant of DRRM-CRISIS MGT- BCP), Engr. John Judilla, MNSA (Safety Director of the Ayala Property Management), and Mr. Christopher “Bong” Grajo (President of Emergency Response Integration Center [ERIC]) dealing on the Big One Impact Scenario, Snapshot of Preparedness, and Crafting Response Operations, respectively. A workshop session for the identification of the needs for each cluster of DRRM was done by the participants in the afternoon.
The Kasaka ni San Isidro Labrador, Inc. joins this preparation as part of its Emergency Preparedness and Response Program and the Disaster Control Group of the Parish and Archdiocesan Shrine of San Isidro Labrador Ministry on Social Services.
